Each Spring The Des Moines Neighborhood Resource Office partners with Des Moines Neighbors to provide a free and structured citywide annual volunteer recognition program.
The volunteer recognition event is named in honor of Alice Rodine, a dedicated neighborhood activist from the city's east side.
Neighborhood Associations are encouraged to nominate a citizen, city employee and businees that has gone above and beyond to improve and assist their area and association. From those nominations, one overall citizen and one city employee that has shown dedication and outstanding service throughout the community is honored. All of the nominees are honored with a certificate from the neighborhoods.
