Within walking distance of two local parks, the Westwood neighborhood offers a peaceful residential environment complete with upscale homes and established trees.
Greenwood Park is hoem to the Des Moines Art Center and the Sylvan Theater, and also includes a large playground and recreation area. Ashworth Park contains the Ashworth Pool and an entrance to the Bill Riley Bike Trail, which leads to Gray's Lake. All of this makes Westwood a destination spot for central Iowans, including neighborhood residents.
