NORTH OF GRAND

Residents of the North of Grand area  say the neighborhood's strength is its cultural and ethnic diversity.  The area's population is a mixture of senor citizens, young and families.  Statistics show that North of Grand has one of the city's highest concentrations of college graduates.
Showcasing a variety of housing styles,  North of Grand consists mostly of single- family dwellings.  The median year for housing construction in the neighborhood is 1943, with 60 percent of the units constructed before 1949.
The neighborhood is close to distinctive shops and businesses and minuts away from downtown, the airport and Greenwood Park.
The North of Grand Neighborhood Association was organized in 1995.  In the 1920's the Center-Soll Club was organized by residents who wanted to get better acquainted with their neighbors.  The current organization is also designed to promote the history of the area and strengthen communication among its residents.
