Lindend Heights features ome of the most distinctive elevated plateaus Des Moines has to offer, with roadways integrated into the contours of its natural landscape. It has become one of the most desirable residential districts in the city. Linden Height's homes are architectually significant because most of them were designed during three successive waves of residential construction, including the pre-and post- World War I and Great Depression eras. Each wave of buildnig reflected changing styles, and many homes are elaborate and experimental examples of their periods. Several of the neighbohood's houses are set on deep lots with undulating landscapes and tree canopies.
The Linden Heights Neighborhood Association works to improve the Neighborhood through planting trees and hosting seasonal neighorhood parties.
