ACCENT

Designated as a neighborhood in 1991, ACCENT (A Community of Central East Neighbors in Transformation) is an approximately 94-square-block area that is perhaps best known for containing the oldest home in Des Moines, (Rose Hill), the popular Latin King restaurant, the Anderson Erickson Dairy and Stork Townsend, Inc.
Most essential services-doctors, dentists, grocery stores, pharmacies, cafes, etc.-are within easy walking or biking distances in the area.
Recreational opportunities are integrated into the area, and include Grand View Park/Golf Course, the Easton Basin Park, and the ACCENT Park, as well as the Iowa State Fairgrounds and the Salvation Army playground.
